Ellis Pugh would have known my ancestors John Bevan and Barbara Aubrey, who were founder members of the Welsh Tract in Pennsylvania.
The first Welsh-language American book was published more than half a century before the birth of the US. Its author, Ellis Pugh, was one of a number of Welsh Quakers who immigrated to Pennsylvania in 1686 in the pursuit of religious freedom✍️Jerry Hunter wp.me/p8Mk4U-19ka

A great thread detailing one of the major events of the twentieth century and how the media broke the news.
