We are back into eclipse season, and there will be a total lunar eclipse and a partial solar eclipse this month - though the solar eclipse will only be visible from the southern Pacific region and not from the UK and Ireland.

Mars will become a dim evening star, Jupiter will become lost in the dusk by the end of the month. But we have much to look forward to; the ETA Aquarids meteor shower,
The milkyway core, elusive night shining clouds, conjunctions and bioluminescent plankton under starry skies✨

This month we are blessed with magical sights; a total lunar eclipse and a partial solar eclipse, the rise of the milky way core and planetary conjunctions with the moon.
All the best for the month from myself & the Almanac team.

January's full moon is known as the wolf moon, named after hungry winter wolves hunting & howling by the light of the full moon.
From south Dartmoor, the waxing gibbous will rise in the east at 15:44 opposite the setting sun in the west, which sets at 16:39.
