Vance can’t be this ignorant, can he? WWII was not ended with a negotiation. Germany and Japan were dictatorial and genicidal regimes that had to be crushed by the military might of the US and Russia. FDR did not sit down and negotiate with Hitler.

Another idea: how about Hungary becomes a neutral state like Switzerland, leaves the EU and NATO but concludes a trade agreement that leaves it part of the single market etc., but without voting rights?

Very interesting polling result from Ukraine: regaining the territory is a bigger priority for Ukrainians than EU and NATO membership. (Also interesting that there are not massive differences between NATO and EU membership view)
