On this day in 1997 the Anti-Landmine Treaty was signed in Ottawa. Ukraine has in recent years been violating the Treaty, having being supplied by non-member the US, and withdrew from the Treaty this year. Several Baltic NATO states have withdrawn recently, in blatant disregard for harm to civilians
