That only makes sense if you assume they just landed on the guest list. If they said this I'd bet a lot of other rich guys would quietly disinvite them from all manner of big evil to dos. Imagine Harlan Crow reading the disavowals and handwashing and it starts to be clear why it never comes.

A dean just heard 'Stop chasing grants and setting up your post-education private sector work' and shook his head so fast it went blurry.

They're using both as examples of rock bands still in the top of the charts, one is old and imagine dragons is relatively young probably for contrast.

They didnt tally this up by hand to spite you. They say in the piece they used Billboards charts of the top 100 tours. I think its very childish to pretend the author just doesnt know whats 'real rock music' just because you dont like the analysis.

They say in the piece that old artists outperform young ones in rock concert sales and mention imagine dragons.

Not for nothing Dunt is very much of a type: a gen x manboy faintly embarassed to be into comic books and cartoons but thinks he can off set that with a bowler hat or cigars and whiskey. A real synecdoche for his general problem of juvenilism he tries to offset by 'keeping it real (standard lib).

Still quite glad she lost.

The gates foundation is a strong supporter of IP for vaccines (allegedy to make research sustainable) but as with us insurance they funnel money into big pvt pharma. IP is also the basis of his software biz so he has a vested interest. thediplomat.com/2021/06/why-... www.wired.com/story/opinio...
The World Loses Under Bill Gates’ Vaccine Colonialism
As many countries wait for Covid vaccines, the world needs a patent-free “People’s Vaccine”—not more of Gates’ intellectual property stubbornness.

This stuff has made reddit practically unusable over the last 8 years now. Even if you agree with it its nonsense like this shoved into every popular sub and a bunch of brandnew nameless ones just to get around filters.

Actually with the new Votann kits they've gone full circle I think.

I have a penny with abraham lincoln on it if you'd like to ponder it and perhaps draw some larger conclusions about the world

Unfortunately I think the dems think so too, and therefore are not planning to do much when they win those votes. A series of Bidenesque 'normalcy' admins trying to rewind the clock to when the teacup was already mid fall and eventually Rs will get it right.

Tom is a noted idiot and this list of uncivil behaviour belies the fact that he mostly agrees with this admin on policy. "absolute brilliance" more like jingling keys for people who prefer to huff than think.

Every time he went overseas you'd get glowing reports where aides claimed he was tremendous about staying up past his bedtime, and was vigorously making love to jill biden.

I think people remember the character of twitter, reddit, 4chan etc as it was 5 to 10 years ago because they were more distinctive then and theyve blended together as people cross post more and more.

Not them and not on Platners side, but she would be 79 once sworn in to a 6 year term, Schumers choice after Feinstein and Biden's dementia. And the only thing polling worse than Trump is dem leadership approval. Shes a weak candidate.

I dont think they're saying it for that reason anymore. Its a way to for liberals to remind themselves what institutions and standards once availed themselves of: If Obama did this - where was congress? whats on the news? how are ppl talking about it? And thats clarifying to them whats not happening

So you have a situation where blockbuster triple A games are competing for a fraction of the wider gaming audience and needing astronomical sales to be a success. www.eurogamer.net/gta-6s-delay...
GTA 6's delay doesn't mean the games industry's in trouble - it's already dead
GTA 6 might have papered over the cracks in the games industry, but its long-term survival rests on a painful change from the established norm.

What makes it more dire is that gen Z gamers might buy a few traditional 60 dollar games, but the younger audience is locked into profitable and cheap live service games with only 8% of gamers play time going to new titles (last 2yrs). www.pcgamer.com/gaming-indus...
PC gamers spend 92% of their time on older games, oh and there are apparently 908 million of us now
Feels like Destiny.

Covid. It massively increased the audience and revenue, investment flooded into a peaking mature market - now that market is atrophying (ppl going outside or watching tiktok) and the only way to post profit is to slash staff.

The critical voices on gaza were absolutely the driver for the ban. We know this because Senator Mitt Romney himself said that 'misinformation' about Gaza was making it difficult for Israelis to control the narrative. newrepublic.com/post/181327/...
