Their gloss on this is so disoreinting to me. Is it a true stmt I find difficult to reconcile with other beliefs; or alternatively its a new variant of foreign (possibly russian) psybomb delivering a truth payload that makes me feel icky. Its like a NATO jargon for talking about global politics.
This narrative cloaks a sophisticated influence strategy.
Its psychological payload isn’t to defend China’s trade policy — it’s to erode Western moral confidence

The world you're describing is one where all voters are de facto meritocrats, i.e. paritsan democrats, and responsible to pick by your values. Its a fundamentally undemocratic tennent - and the miror image of the MAGA belief that all must secretly hold their values - both are rejections of democracy

If someone in the rust belt leaves the president boxes unticked, did they 'choose to help the other candidate'? Thats how many democrats would view it. But voters in general are not democrats, they're not obliged to help your candidate, they're not defacto in favour of the 'better' option.

Could, for example, HIllary have been a better President than Trump? Sure. She was a more qualified candidate. But she was not a better candidate. She was uniquely positioned to lose to him. A system where the best candidate gets the job is a meritocracy, not a democracy.

Its not equal responsibility because power is not equal. The buck stops with leadership. They define the campaign, the issues, choose the priorites and try to win. If voters reject your 'better candidate' they were by definition a worse candidate - thats democracy, the will of the people.

And also! I don't have to defend their votes! You know why!? Cuz I actually believe in democracy - where politicians work to earn votes. You're a democrat who doesnt even believe in democracy anymore.

BlueSky is trying to monetize so let's show them some numbers:

Reskeet this if you refuse to pay for BlueSky+ until trust & safety decides to prioritize marginalized users.

That's $96 / year of lost revenue for each reskeet...
