Teacher | SENDCo | slow runner | I read a lot of sci fi.
I visited the Imperial War Museum yesterday and found it very moving, actually hard not to cry. The sheer futility, bravery and resilience of people during conflict was overwhelming. Last night I nearly bought Dunkirk but hesitated… I’ve never really watched war films before. Is it worth a watch? 🙏

I can’t believe I’m writing this…Yesterday Ben and I went to Hull and ran a MARATHON. I was very scared beforehand and cried when I finished. Extremely hard but worth every step. For Lise. ❤️

It’s #NationalFindYourInnerNerdDay today… naturally, I celebrated with a 14K run and a surprise landing in Tatooine (Rawtenstall). Bumped into Star Wars characters, got very excited and asked for a photo- because that’s what all chill composed adults do.

🧵 (1/3): I’m not quite sure how to say this, bear with me…

I’m doing the Rumble in the Jumble challenge on 11 Oct in Hull.

6-hours of running (or something hopefully resembling it).

Cutting-edge cancer treatments made within days rather than weeks or months.

Personalised gene therapies to be made while patients wait (with only minutes of shelf life).

Both will now be possible thanks to the world-first regulations coming into force today, thanks to the Labour government.
Cutting-edge personalised treatments, made while you wait, will deliver specialised care to patients more quickly
New regulations effective today will make it faster and easier for cutting-edge cancer treatments and personalised gene therapies to be made right where patients are treated.

And just like that… we made it. 💫
Last day of term, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt quite this tired.
This year has been a whirlwind. Here’s to rest, sunshine, and hopefully finding my running rhythm again - one peaceful mile at a time. 🤞
School’s out for summer! 💚

@jhsteven.bsky.social I finished The Apparition Phase. I’m not sure what I think really happened at the end. It was sad. 😞

Yesterday was a good day. My family came to #ParkRun and they did great! 💞

I ran it in 30m 51s, (that’s really good for me! 😆).

I had porridge an hour before the race which I think might have t-oat-ally helped… *sorry.

How wonderful. I wish I’d done this at school, a chance to fall in love with the Earth. 🌍
Brilliant news! At last, confirmation that the Govt *will* go ahead with the #NaturalHistoryGCSE 🎉 We have to get to know our fellow travellers on this planet again. Young people who know & love nature are far more likely to protect & restore it - as well as enjoying better physical & mental health

Campaigners have been calling for the qualification for years but plan stalled despite a curriculum being drawn up

Maybe the most beautiful sunrise I’ve ever seen. 🥺 This was around 6am this morning, it was worth getting up for. Obviously I had to stop running for a while to take pictures. 👀 What a beautiful world we live in. 🥰

We all know pets are brilliant, loving this paw-some celebration in #RISEduMag for #LoveYourPetDay. ❤️ 🐾

I’m a bit biased but I have a mini (labradoodle) soft spot for number 9… just look at her little face. 🥺🫶

Family Park Run in Burnley this morning. I always feel quite proud afterwards, like I’ve accomplished something good. Also in awe of all the impressively fast runners and secretly wish I was one of them. 😄🙏

The Lancashire weather hasn’t made my 2025 goal to run each day easy. 😅 Running is a relatively new habit for me and feeling pretty proud of myself so far. I don’t go very far or fast but I think believing I’m a runner is what matters most and I think I might be. 💕

There’s always an assumption that low nos of children with SEND at a school means they’ve been turned away or kicked out: it could mean that some of these schools have inclusion right & so more children don’t need different from/additional to what’s universally on offer. /1

Hello BlueSky, the great #EduSky community is a nice surprise. I’m glad I joined.

I work at a lovely through-school in Lancashire. I’ve been a SENDCo for many years, it’s one of the most rewarding roles in school.

I’m always delighted to help and support others. #SEND
