I found a book I loved as a child featuring paintings by 2 Chinese artists who traveled thru Pakistan in 1981 and Jesus Christ the art is just as beautiful as I remember. I haven't seen this book in 2 decades. I want to cry.

NUN VA GOLDOON was great. A film about the loss of innocence, Makhmalbaf's minimalist direction gets a lot done with little. Most scenes are self contained collages and they build on each other to tell a story thick with grief, and it all culminates in the greatest final shot:

This evening the #AutosportAwards is taking place in London. I’m not there tonight but I’ve been to every one of them since ’96, in which year I sat next to John Surtees. So I’m calling that a good excuse to tweet this mega David Phipps pic of Surtees’ Ferrari en route to Nürburgring victory in ’63.
