A story about John Cook:

My husband’s grandpa, Ted, is a big Nebraska volleyball fan. I wanted to get him to a match, but tickets are hard to come by. Accessible seats even more so.

I was talking about it one day before an availability. John Cook overheard.

“What if he sat in my box?”

Trump freezes federal grants, loans, and aid to review funding priorities, excluding individual assistance. Critics call it “unprecedented,” warning of chaos for grantees relying on funds. Impacting billions, this pause sparks debate. Concepts of a half ass plan

Hey, while we're talking about erasing history:

In 1949 the US military held its first Aeriel Gunnery Competition, later known as "Top Gun."

The best of the best competed in dogfighting and other skills. The team that won, was the 332nd: The Tuskegee airmen.

So they refused to announce a winner🤡

canceling the commissary — and i would assume, exchange — program is a one way ticket to getting a bonus army situation. for those unaware, the commissaries and exchanges are subsidized grocery and department stores for service members, veterans and their families.
Good lord. You weren’t joking.

Trump has gagged the CDC, but not me. So I'm sharing this. www.cjonline.com/story/news/p...
Kansas tuberculosis outbreak is now America's largest in recorded history
Kansas public health officials say the state's ongoing tuberculosis outbreak is the largest since the CDC started reporting TB cases in the 1950s.

Trump: "We're looking at the whole concept of FEMA. I like, frankly, the concept when North Carolina gets hit, the governor takes care of it. When Florida gets hit, the governor takes care of it. Meaning the state takes care of it ... I'd like to see the states take care of disasters."

You chose this.
You chose him.

For the third time, you had a chance to reject his vitriol, to condemn his criminality, to prevent his lawlessness, to denounce his bigotry—and you flat-out refused. You even celebrated it. That’s not something I can abide.

Trump has deployed active military to help round up migrants and put them into detention camps.

The military forced us out of our homes at gunpoint in 1942 because we were considered possibly disloyal Americans. They sent us to internment camps for four years.

History is repeating. Pay attention.

I hear there are stories coming, but putting the brakes on our country’s world-leading medical research system feels like a five alarm fire and I don’t see a newspaper that even has it on the front page yet
Shutting down medical research — not just within NIH, but everywhere that’s funded by NIH — will have long-term effects on medicine & short-term effects on state, higher education & hospital budgets. This affects all of us, not just researchers.
The assault on NIH is a test for how the national media covers the Trump admin: Trump is shutting down medical research!

That is easy to communicate. Will they treat it as a 5 alarm fire in a way that forces the government to respond, or will they downplay & caveat it?

The Washington Post editorial this morning essentially equating Biden's questionable pardons with Trump's outrageous Jan. 6 pardons was unconscionable. The newspaper I've been part of for 48 years has utterly lost its soul.
