Not always true, the Czech translation of HP is generally praised for creative name translations (especially in comparison to the Slovak one, which left the English names alone).

Well, also, people watch the Olympics for feats of athleticism, not charisma. A strategy explicitly rejecting athleticism undermines the enterprise.
