On 15 January 1919, the German Spartacus communists Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht were murdered by the German Freikorps. As probably the only Indian ever, just a few weeks earlier, M.P.T. Acharya had met them both in Berlin.

An honour to be present at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony to hear the testimony of Nihon Hidankyo - the survivors of the bombings of Nagasaki and Hiroshima - who have advocated tirelessly for the abolition of nuclear weapons. That there is a nuclear taboo at all is thanks to them.
