Current events reminded me of this.
Certainly is interesting to see people have simplistic views of a dynamic and developing situation overseas where the relationships are complicated and the motives aren’t always known right away.
Even more fun when you provide insight and context and watch that cognitive dissonance go to work.

I’m reminded of the Chinese Farmer story Alan Watts is know for.
