My takeaway from the elections yesterday is that it’s one thing to be unpopular and have a large portion of the media apparatus desperate to pretend that’s not the case but it’s another thing to be unpopular and have that be an undeniable fact

The solution to the male loneliness epidemic is attending a local Democratic Party canvassing event.
WOW. 81% of women 18-29 voted for Mamdani, 80% for Sherril, and 78% for Spanberger.

Can folks please please please stop retweeting clips of CNN, MSNBC, et al? We don't watch that crap any more. We have no interest in the clowns they feature. We've moved on. We KNOW they're all dipsticks, doing fascist shit. Why do you think we need to see dipsticks? #RetweetOperaSingers

In a huge coincidence, this Acosta fellow—the US Attorney who raced to protect Jeffrey Epstein from his own office investigating Epstein's finances—was later appointed to Trump's Cabinet.

Gosh, what a strange thing for Trump to do. Can't explain it. Hmmm.

Amid national economic insecurity, Minnesota just ranked as a top three state in the nation for job seekers.

That includes nation-leading job benefits, worker protections, and a diverse economy.

The network news got unwatchable long ago (all those years of tRUmp-fluffing & Biden-bashing bled intelligent viewers away), so the CBS preposterousness is just the shit-gilding of the dead lily. If a network falls in the forest & absolutely everyone has switched off long ago . . . .

When ocean-clouds over inland hills
Sweep storming in late autumn brown,
And horror the sodden valley fills,
And the spire falls crashing in the town,
I muse upon my country’s ills —
The tempest bursting from the wastes of Time
On the world’s fairest hope linked with man’s foulest crime.

THIS is our indisputable power, our $$$. When we withhold it, they cave IMMEDIATELY! Imagine CNN & NYT today if Bluesky feeds massed together for boycotts, instead of tsk-tsking with re-posts & dunk tweets. Boycott Everything But Essentials (and buy those small & local). #BEBE

As the Supreme Court term begins, keep this framework in mind: Autocratic Legalism.

Instead of “rule of law” (law constrains the power), we get “rule by law” (law as a weapon for power).

Authoritarians usually have to install allies. Trump started his second term with that step already complete.

My ’Song of the Summer’ was “Va, pensiero,” the hauntingly beautiful, elegiac chorus from Verdi’s NABUCCO, a sadly perfect anthem for our currently beleaguered land:
“Oh, mia patria sì bella e perduta!
Oh, membranza sì cara e fatal” www.youtube.com/watch?v=XttF...
