Our car front number plate is cracked & MOT advisory issued. I just ordered & bought a replacement from #Ebay with zero proof of ownership! Very worrying. No wonder criminals find it so easy to 'clone' cars to avoid #Ulez or parking tickets.

This is the first UK banknote I've received that has King Charles on it. I might keep it as a souvenir. I still haven't seen any King Charles lll coins yet.

Judge slams Ofwat and govt for not attending Thames Water hearing.

No one representing people/customers as lenders carve the company.

Thames has £19bn debt, wants to borrow another £3bn, only £1bn will be useable, customer bills will rocket, won't resolve the crisis.

Nationalise.

Just made a #Parkin cake using my Mum's old handwritten recipe. I had to convert ounces to grams & guessing the weight of black treacle/getting it out of tin was fun! The gingery smell is yummy.

I've spent over a year trying to find a new sofa. I found the perfect design- but they only make it in pale grey, dark grey or navy velvet. All hand made to order. I've asked the company if they can make it in Teal velvet. From the same velvet supply company they use. Computer says No.
Sigh...

This seems to be not much publicised, but from tomorrow if you're travelling to the UK on a non-EU passport (for example you're an American/Australian/Canadian/NZ etc resident of France) you will need to get the ETA visa in advance

The joys of #MS. Woke up with a large black bruise on my hand. I can't remember knocking it. My lymphocytes are low on #Mavenclad. I always bruised easily but it's worse on the MS drugs.

UK's regressive tax system.
Poorest 10% of households paid 48% of income in tax; richest 10% paid 39%.

Poorest 10% paying 12% of income in VAT; richest 10% pay 3%.

Council tax: Poorest 10% paying 7%; richest 10% pay 1.2%.

No govt plans to end inequity.

Water companies fined just £2 for rule breaking despite record sewage

Is it any wonder campaigners have described the fines as “pathetic” and accused the regulator Ofwat of failing to hold water companies to account over sewage dumping

This sad tree was our companion at the pub this afternoon. We were tempted to run home for some more baubles. But we had a great time. Happy Christmas all.

Very disappointed with my #QualityStreet box. Dull wrappers (except the green one) & the purple brazil nut toffee is tiny!

Merry Christmas. As we were so poorly for 3 weeks, we had to buy the only tree left at our local florists. Smaller than our usual tree, but it smells divine.

Rewarding failure with more money, and guess what?

They will fail again and need even more.

Privatisation...

Our taxes built it.
We owned it.
Then we paid to use it.
Tories sold it back to us.
& it ended up in foreign hands.
So it costs more to use.
& we pay more tax to subsidise it.
But they avoid paying tax.
& ran up debts.
& didn't invest.
But they did make shareholders rich.
& now..
Thames Water fined £18.2m for 'unjustified' £131.3m dividend to shareholders.

At the same time OFWAT allows Thames to hike customer bills by 35%.

Capital raised from customers who will own nothing, shareholders will get returns.

Privatisation is a scam.

Thames Water fined £18m over dividends but granted 35% bills hike by 2030
The ruling falls well short of a 59% bills hike requested by the troubled water company, as it tries to secure a bailout from investors.
