There is a gulf in America. I submit it is the gulf between good and evil, or at least not-evil and evil.
The gulf is not just between people who oppose this and people who are indifferent to it or reluctantly accept it in support of immigration policy or see it as collateral damage.

I settled in to watch this last night expecting some kind of Merchant Ivory Maurice type flick - and much of it was - until they started cutting off gay men's balls and replacing them with straight balls. Turns out that was a thing back in the 1920s.

Today was a dark day. This bill sets up an ICE police state - with funding for a network of privately run prisons. At the same time it underfunds the judicial system, so the impact will be lots and lots of people locked up indefinitely, waiting for a court date in a severely backlogged system.

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.
It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.

I hope that I am not right, but I do not think that the GOP fucking over rural areas will result in rural areas blaming the GOP: instead they'll double-down on blaming imaginary cultural enemies and resentment/fantasy about how the cities must be worse.
