MIT’s NANDA initiative found that 95% of generative AI deployments fail after interviewing 150 execs, surveying 350 workers, and analyzing 300 projects. The real “productivity gains” seem to come from layoffs and squeezing more work from fewer people not AI.
MIT report: 95% of generative AI pilots at companies are failing
There’s a stark difference in success rates between companies that purchase AI tools from vendors and those that build them internally.

Sexualization of children? They don't see us as anything but something to have sex with, that's why they're so mad at transgender people and children especially
Just in case anyone doubts claims they are criminalizing transgender...

"Pornography, manifested today in the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children [...] has no claim to First Amendment protection."
Republican Sen. Mike Lee's pornography ban is moving forward in the Senate
Utah Senator Mike Lee's bill that would ban all pornography federally is advancing within the Senate.

For reference this is 25% of the entire Israeli population. Obviously it's easier to organize in a small state but this makes the No Kings protest in America proportionally tiny by comparison.
Over 2.5 million Israelis joined today’s anti-Netanyahu protests, organisers estimate. 300,000 are now in Tel Aviv's Hostage Square. (Haaretz)

Privacy Breakdown of Mobile Phones
Mobile phones were not designed for privacy and security by default. Not only do they do a poor job of protecting your communications, they also expose you to new kinds of surveillance risks—especially location tracking.  Most mobile phones give the user much less control than a personal desktop or laptop...

“Anyone who believed that government censorship of internet speech would stop with adult content was profoundly naïve. Had the mainstream tech industry taken the threat against us seriously rather than argue that our speech was less worthy of protection, we might not be in this situation.”
Age verification laws are sweeping the US, changing the future of online speech
Age verification laws have been passed in at least 24 states. Some say it’s an effort to protect kids, while others say it restricts protected speech.

BigLaw was never going to save us. The tiny bit of good work they did was always just marketing to paper over their primary role: getting paid a lot of money to make the world worse.

A Stripe rep hung up on me when they realized they told me they're disallowing "LGBTQ content" in transactions, so either they're slipping up more or just being more honest about their real intentions.

Keep the pressure up, keep calling, maybe start recording what they're telling you.
Did you call your censorious overlords today? Don't forget to complete your dailies!!

I thought that most of the institutions would go along with authoritarianism because they support some fascism. But I didn't think it would be so fast.
We are seven months in, and the speed with which vital civic institutions are capitulating to authoritarian demands we once would have regarded as inconceivable in an established liberal democracy is jawdropping. I hadn't thought I was polyannaish about America, but it's really stunning.

Trans people are terrified that their medical records will end up in the hands of the government and used to restrict their access. It's a terror campaign stripping an entire community of its basic right to privacy.

Literally in the middle of writing an academic article right now talking about the death of medical privacy for trans patients. The government dropped charges on someone who leaked medical records to Chris Rufo. Tennessee got access to therapy notes and pre and post op nude photos. It's really bad.
The Justice Department has sent subpoenas to the providers of gender affirming care to trans youth. My understanding is that these are under the False Claims Act and they are attempting to gain access to full medical records of trans patients similar to how Tennessee did so.
