1. Hey it's worth a try. I'm currently cuddling my cat and it's helping.

2. That's an idea! I hadn't thought of that. Like a phone buddy 😁

(I should add that I was working from home so there's something particularly visceral about someone sobbing into your headphones while you're sat in your own house.)

1. What advice do you have for immediately post anxiety/PTSD attack?

2. Am I being unreasonable considering asking for... idk a break from the phone? It's not the main part of my job. Am I overreacting?

Since this has happened a couple of times and my work are aware of my PTSD, is there any sort of allowance or adjustment I could ask for? It's not something that would be expected in my line of work but since it's happened more than once, I am terrified to answer the phone now.

So I was hearing this person in severe distress and I'm no longer paralysed but I did hang up and have another panic attack.

My question is: what should I do in the short term to feel better? Obviously this situation is unsustainable but in the meantime how do I stop feeling like I'm going to puke?

So I'm looking for advice on getting that out of my head. I really really struggle dealing with distressed strangers. I struggled with this at the library but now I am also a representative of my company and obviously their priority would be me not making any statements on their behalf by accident.

Now I know I should have cut them off but it was actually related to the work we do in a way that meant I had to take down details but I also have this unfortunate habit of having a freeze panic-attack when Bad Phone Calls happen.

Happy to be of service. I once got into a taxi in Dublin wearing a cool new outfit. I was nervous about deviating from the norm but did it anyway.

The taxi driver was on the phone when I got in. First thing he did was finish his phone call saying "I have to go, this fella's wearing dungarees"
