That’s a 10 inch extra deep Pyrex pie plate and it took 3.5 standard crusts Frankensteined together, 9 apples of indeterminate (lumberjack’s front yard) variety, 1/2 cup mixed aged sharp cheddar and Sage Derby (to be fancy), and some trial and error so it’s not both burned & raw simultaneously.

I got a personal loaf of cranberry bread and the leftover lox and cheese ball. The lumberjack is working holiday overtime for the benjamins so I’ll see him another time but I made an apple pie from apples off his tree and my dad loved it. Now I’m home getting stoned on my couch. The end.

The lumberjack just… doesn’t worry about dumb shit? Works all his stress off doing physical chores? Gently tells me “You’re overthinking this” and “Can’t be worrying about shit you can’t fix” and “Hey, help me with a project and put your phone in the other room”. It’s so foreign and so welcome.

Can’t imagine how much this would suck without a lumberjack in my corner, tbh. My last ex was an anxious OCD overthinker and we fed off each other in the Bad Way.

I also ran into the lumberjack’s mom who was scoping out a potential tenant and super glad she came in when she did because the potential tenant is a notorious creep banned from the day center for violent threats! My encyclopedic knowledge of Bemidji Local Weirdos came in handy.

I got asked because several union folks including our representative saw me get up and try to fight the whole county board and recognized that for better or worse a major part of my personality is Randy Marsh from South Park with a black eye slurring “I didn’t hear no bell!!”

That said, it’s cool to be so involved and at least have input into something pretty important for a bunch of people which will have real world effects for several years. Planting a tree I might not see grow type of thing. Also I sure do love to argue and this is at least a healthy outlet for that.
