That’s a 10 inch extra deep Pyrex pie plate and it took 3.5 standard crusts Frankensteined together, 9 apples of indeterminate (lumberjack’s front yard) variety, 1/2 cup mixed aged sharp cheddar and Sage Derby (to be fancy), and some trial and error so it’s not both burned & raw simultaneously.

Spent the weekend being head construction assistant, which mostly meant I handed the lumberjack various tools up the ladder. But lo! A roof and doorframe for the future screened porch! Also I built the campfire thank you kindly.

Steve Earle fucking crushed it for two hours. One of the best concerts I’ve been to even though it rained ten minutes into the opening act and I’m still warming up. The whole audience screamed at the scream part in Copperhead Road. It was great.

The roof is fucked up and I had a ceiling leak but I went to visit my favorite lumberjack for the weekend and ate fresh walleye and drank cherry schnapps because that’s how we roll in Malung & by the time I got home the power was back on. Thank you Kopen, schnapps, & Ottertail Power in that order.

I got to make friends with Alice today! Alice is a reticulated python, which is the world’s longest snake. (Alice herself is not-at least not yet!) She is a delight and allowed me to boop her little nose as well as pet her very long noodly self and remark upon her lovely tail..
