In more positive news, as part of Diwali festivities this weekend I (re-)discovered the modest Chum Chum. Absolutely fucking delightful, both in a literal sense as a celebratory sweet treat, but also in terms of the realisation that, even firmly in the midst of middle age, new 'wow' moments exist.

Finally going the right way again. A year ago I hit 90KG and basicslly rendered half my wardrobe obsolete, whilst feeling pretty shit, all in all. 10kilos down from there now. 5 more by Christmas to hit target. Amazing how easy it is to stack weight on without even realising.

There we are then. Can't say i'm thrilled with this one, on any level. It feels like a market opportunity, and one which involves a home-grown player at a point in which we need to bolster that group. Some business sense there, I guess. Not a fan of what it implies on a moral level. #LFC

Overall, some inevitable questions to be answered on how this new group adapt to the club and its expectations, as well as how they gel as a group. The quality is undeniably there, though, and we're looking at a much improved age profile.

An interesting view of current expenditure in the Premier League, given all the gnashing of teeth from some quarters about #LFC investment. Almost as if some have conveniently overlooked the outgoings (as well as the last 2 or 3 transfer windows leading to this one).

In the supporters club bar in #Helsinki for the game, so brought this little number for the occasion. Always loved the story about why he chose the number 37 (because Kenny was his childhood idol and he wanted his number, but unfortunately 7, 17 and 27 were already taken). #LFC

Arrived in Helsinki first thing this morning with no room to check into until the afternoon, so, I went for a walk. Much more compact, walkable city than i'd imagined. Nice place.
