Fun fact: Both the Smurfs and Sonic the Hedgehog share similarities in worldbuilding, but both have key differences in premise. Smurfs live in mushroom houses, protecting their village from Gargamel. Sonic and friends protect their environment from Doctor Eggman's evil gadgets.

Fun fact: The good news is that the heroic duo is returning for an all-new reboot by Peyo Productions in 2027. The problem is that the characters were radically redesigned into a semi-realistic style that goes against the Peyo style of the original source material.
