Sometimes keeping it simple is the best statement of all.

I sent this customer piece immediately to my husband with a big ol "SEE IT ISN'T JUST ME! THERE ARE DOZENS OF US! DOZENS!!!"

Yesss! It's a shockingly difficult piece. I've seen a bunch at this point and all the brown just gets overwhelming. I tried to play with antiquing/underpainting but didn't push it enough.

This is my favorite customer rendition! I vastly prefer it and will likely redo my sample to be closer in tone.

This was a fun one to paint, but all I can see is the things I want to change. Too monochrome, not enough contrast. Ah well, practice makes perfect. Get 'em next time.

I'm just here to show this off 'cause it was pretty. Don't ask me why I keep posting food and then dipping. I don't know how to behave right now.

Hey, hey, hey if you too are in need of a good chicken wing replacement-- may I introduce you to my new favorite thing?

Butler Soy Curls flavored with buffalo and wrapped in rice paper before baking. Eerily good.

SOY CURLS. they're what's for dinner.

Like, constantly lately. I can't stop. So good.

Been cookin' up a storm, and sort of finally falling into vegetarianism in the process. This meal was actually accidentally vegan!

Been talking to my veggie coworker about it a lot and going back to recipes of my childhood. When I miss my mom, cooking a meal helps.

Twins! One has a satin base and one has a glossy base. One always lies and the other always tells the truth. 👀✨

?????? What is this supposed to be? The mystery astounds us.

Hey look, it didn't crack in half! Hate the shape, but it's nice to have junk shapes to use as test tiles for specific surfaces. Wish I felt less queasy at the sight of lightning bolts right now...

It's either gonna be way too little or way too much and I'm excited to see where my mistakes take me.
September 8, 2025 at 2:50 PM
And the piece from this vintage 70/80s stash that I am most excited about...

Budai is my guy, I am over the goddamn moon to be able to paint my own. 🥹 My manager put him on the shelf and I yelped loudly and immediately wrapped him up to go home lol. He's perfect. I am so excited.

Jungle Gemssssssssss. 🤤 These were such useless nonsense junk as boxes but good for globbin' on some combo tests.

My boss picked up a bundle of old items from a studio that closed in the early 80s and only recently started to clear out... And I have been losing my mind over it all. 50 year old greenware, wrapped in old local newspapers.

Who is this man and what is he doing??? 👀
September 4, 2025 at 2:39 PM
My nonsense definitely got up to some shenanigans while they were away. Got something in the direction of the green I was looking for, but at what cost lol.
September 3, 2025 at 12:12 AM
Wish my nonsense the best of luck.

Obviously needed a little @dimension20.bsky.social quote on the bottom to tie it together.

Kinda scrawled out the lettering on this one, not my proudest work but kinda dug the vibe. Weh.
"due to personal reasons, I am evil now."

Painted myself a goblet for GM/DMing, except I don't drink alcohol so it's for chocolate soymilk or powdered energy drink mix.

Tried practicing my writing with the tiny detail bottles my job supplies, as I would like to get better at rendering serif text for an event soon.

Mostly just ended up liking the doodle on the bottom the most. Typical lol.

In a strange twist of fate, I found a second job. I now restore historic windows one day a week, alongside teaching pottery painting full time.

I am a professional glazer and glazier.

Trying out a different texture technique. Always startled by how much I love a good black antiquing wash. Sample for work.

Losing my cat hit me harder than I could admit out loud. I detached from this platform and made some life changes. Floated until it felt like I wasn't sinking anymore.

Been making a lot of good food.

As always, my grief has made me cook.

Things have been really grim in my life lately, and I'm never the sort to celebrate myself-- especially birthdays. This birthday, however, has made me reflect on how I am supported by the people around me. We worked hard all day and then my coworkers came out singing with a cake and reader, I cried.
