just to show how much Chaminda is not dismissing a woman despite naming her husband and not her, he says he couldn't name either of them despite naming the husband in the original post, called me a "fucking clown", then blocked me. just so you know he's definitely in the right and not a misogynist

I don't really care whether people know who Jon & Laura are, but to constantly dismiss the role of the woman in the group and devalue her leaves a bad taste, especially when the OP is a no name journo churning out trash for the Guardian. even hides behind a picture of someone else ffs

it's so telling that you haven't mentioned Laura by name at any point in any of these posts. just because you struggle to name women doesn't mean the rest of us have that problem

you can buy books without having to read them! you wouldn't believe the amount of houses I've been to with a fireplace where the residents don't even have a passing interest in coal

what does it mean to be "left wing in an undisciplined way", and what examples do you have of any of the US left-adjacent candidates elected this week doing that

what's unreasonable about a 4,000 signature petition to ban a group of football fans who chanted in the streets of Amsterdam about how they want to physically and sexually assault people? sounds like a good local MP to me

I understand this in principle, but in practice *not* having a common, standardised form of ID locks people out of critical infrastructure, utilities, services right now. that's surely a problem that needs fixing?

this could actually be true because the company that holds all the mailing list & contact data is different from the company where the donations are going

imagine getting frustrated that your workplace wasn't achieving its objectives quickly enough, so stealing all of their data to email everyone with details of the new domain you'd bought and asking them to start paying £55/year, and pinky promising the money will reach the right place

I have been quite happy boycotting any organisation I know shares a link with Stephen Fry for a decade, so thank you for the list

something without an established hierarchy means they have free choice. which makes the choice to use Stephen Fry, presumably paying him, more worthy of criticism imo

he's the "patron" of Humanists UK. I don't see it as being much different from asking an Anglican why they've shared something narrated by one of their despicable archbishops

Stephen "abuse victims should grow up and get over it" Fry? you share his approach to life?

have you seen the people & policies available in this country? why would you bother voting?

[wise men arriving at the inn] messiah? yeah cool. you came all the way here on a little donkey? what breed? I need to see where this fits on my donkey genealogy charts

I keep ours under the sink, so that if there is a water leak, glue is easily accessible for resealing; and if there is a glue leak, there is easy access to water for cleaning

neither of these things have ever happened

far flung Nottinghamshire is a special place. I've never heard a better example of crab mentality than when I spoke to someone from Retford who was swearing against Worksop because they'd got "the cinema" and Retford hadn't
