URGENT: The LA Sheriff's Department and Board of Supervisors has yet to evacuate at least 4,700 people who are incarcerated just 5 miles from a wild fire that broke out hours ago.

The board must act NOW to save the lives of the people who are imprisoned.

The Hughes fire broke out a little before 11 a.m., roughly 5 miles north of the Pitchess Detention Center. The sheriff's department has struggled with a shortage of buses to transport inmates.

The jails are RIGHT HERE *in the evac zone*

So far they are only evacuating them to another facility in the same complex which is ALSO IN THE EVAC ZONE www.latimes.com/california/s...

UPDATE: Jail officials are now moving inmates from one facility in this complex to another one slightly further away within the same complex.

The issue here is that they are very short on buses so unclear how the can quickly move them further if needed
