PEOPLE CANNOT AFFORD RENT. Half of renters are paying over 30% of their income on rent, another quarter are paying over 50%!!!

Here's today's participation ! First chapter, mmc's intro
A small lake, crystal clear, the light of a magical sun reflecting on the scales of thousands of fishes, covered part of the clearing. The rest was decorated with a small bench and a garden of flowers well organized, forming a rainbow of colors. A small wooden hut, with a stable next to it, stood next to the garden. As they slowed their pace and approached the stables, it was with no surprise that they heard a voice, soft and calm, talking to the horse inside. “There you go, lovely. All cleaned up. Go, run now.” The chestnut horse didn’t need to be told twice, and took off running once freed from his master. Eiria watched it pass by, holding out her hand to meet the coat of the animal, the hairs gliding through her fingers as she smiled. Soon, a young man walked out of the stables. Short, fluffy black hair, dark and profound green eyes, Selim was a beautiful young man. A crown of flowers, one he had definitely made himself, sat skewed on his messy head. Freckles covered his olive skin, and he smiled as he saw the two visitors.

“Oh. That’s good,” I say, but sceptical warning bells start ringing in my head. I don’t have many other options, though. I look to my side and see that Driona’s stride is incredibly complicated. Her two outer legs bent forward like a human’s, while the middle leg bent backwards. It looks awkward as hell, but have to pick up my own pace to keep up with Driona, so I may well be wrong there. “There is a problem with the situation, though,” Driona adds. Welp, there it is. “Problem?” I ask, becoming more and more concerned. The corridor only barely has enough room for the two of us, and I don’t think I can outrun her. I’m trapped. “See, this friend of mine, we’re not exactly on the best of terms right now… because I owe him some money from a failed venture. However, you might just be able to help with that.” Driona says this with a level of certainty in her voice that makes dread bubble up in my stomach. “What? How?”
