This morning my ChatGPT quota was inexplicably exhausted.
It took a while but I pieced it together. Voice mode somehow got activated when I went to bed.
The bot then engaged in a 10 hour conversation with my snoring dog, answering questions the pup wasn’t asking and praising him for his insight.

So this age verification thing. Are people calmly complying as after all what could possibly go wrong (and if so what is the favoured method) or are we be being hysterical and suspicious and vocally refusing? Or, as is my preferred option just putting it all off and seeing if it all goes away?

Goldman Sachs has just put out a warning about a full US-China financial decoupling which would wipe out $2.5 trillion.
US investors might be forced to sell $800 billion in Chinese stocks, while China could liquidate $1.7 trillion in US assets, including Treasuries and equities.
Boom.

The argument that democracy is simply 'elections' with no acknowledgment that elections need to comply with a legal framework in order to be free and fair and furthermore, an independent judiciary, free press and other aspects of civil society are equally important is facile and reductive.

Now he has resumed bombing, killing hundreds of people and breaking the ceasefire that had given Gaza a chance to live again.
