Honestly late September to early October is my favorite part of the movie calendar because I haven’t actually seen any of the awards movies, most of which will be mid at best, but I still get to enjoy the awards race lol.

I strongly believe the first sentence of a review should not contain the word “backlash.” Just tell me about the book for fucks sake.

Wildly unprofessional conduct from Fowler there, bashing Fritz like that.

Can’t stand “athletes from the Russian region of the globe” designations, not displaying the Russian flag during international sporting events, etc. Either have the balls to ban these athletes or stfu and treat them like anyone else. Everyone needs to grow up.

It’s so fucking lame to be the David Chase whisperer and call “College” the greatest Sopranos episode. I just rewatched the series and that one is baggy af and doesn’t even crack the top ten.

Generally don’t give a shit about people’s personal lives or parentage (Novak is my favorite tennis player!) but I feel compelled to point out that Emma Navarro is the heir to a predatory lending fortune lmao.

I wholeheartedly approve of blocking at the drop of a hat, but this is still funny

At a certain point the performative misandry just circles back around to being misogyny, FYI.
I will say I am enjoying Creation Lake by Rachel Kushner so far, but we will see how that goes. It does have a main character whose comments about her own boobs make me wonder if Rachel Kushner is a Murakami under a pseudonym. (I like Murakami btw but I am aware of his...'foibles'.)

Love to read a Very Serious article about Very Startling Firings in elite media and learn in the second paragraph that we’re talking about a child of a Grammy winner who broke into the elite media sphere without any experience. 🙄

Wealth… prestige… respect. These are the three pillars of the uncut gems game. When you stand upon all three, it is a stable foundation indeed… But look down, my friend. Heh heh… You have only two feet with which to stand! A metaphor, of course.. But now, let’s talk business! - Adam Sandler

This truthering is so bizarre: no one disputes that a guy opened fire at him with an AR-15 at easy shooting range, but people have some desperate need to turn it into something else, as if his getting hit by shrapnel (that wasn't in any photos) rather than the bullet (that was) would change anything
The limited evidence that's been released indicate Trump was struck by a tiny piece of plastic shrapnel from a teleprompter shattered by a stray, or ricocheted bullet. No bullet came anywhere near #Smelvis. Walking around with a maxi pad taped to his head doesn't mean he 'nearly got killed'.
