I'm a NCCC alum, and of all the stupid fucking decisions DOGE and this administration has made, this is one of the biggest. This program is so small, and so cheap, and it's going to have such devastating consequences on natural disaster recovery, let alone all the other work NCCC teams do.

I’m an AmeriCorps NCCC alumni - I graduated from college when the job market was still recovering from the 2008 crash, and this program provided me with experiences that I never would have had otherwise. To have these teams pulled from their projects mid-service is so cruel. Call your reps!

Seeing Rumeysa Ozturk snatched off the street by masked thugs evoked the actions of so many tyrannies: The Basij is Iran, Mukhabarat in Egypt or Syria, Mano Blanca in Guatemala & El Salvador, FRAPH in Haiti. They're practicing on foreigners, they'll move onto citizens soon enough.
