This small herd came tearing over the hill at a dead run and straight at me. I guess being between them and water made me a fun new obstacle. Bison are playful & mischievous, but they're not mean. I wasn't in any real trouble, they were all frisky on a cold morning and just going to water.

it's a very privileged problem to have but i think calling your kid smart, if not inherent abusive, is maybe dehumanizing; like most people are not "smart", you are placing your kid in a demarcated category, separate from the larger body of humanity.
