Today is the birthday of writer & editor Len Wein (June 12, 1948-Sept. 10, 2017). He cocreated Swamp Thing, Wolverine, & most of the new X-Men when he helped revive the team in 1975, and wrote virtually every major hero at Marvel & DC at some point.

Jeez Louise, us DC Silver Age kids couldn't even read a simple western comics like "Matt Savage, Trail Boss" without those darn editors speaking in some edjamacation stuff!

We DC Silver Age kids could accept Barry Allen keeping the Flash costume inside a ring, but Hawkman's wings? Crammed into that little chest medallion? A bridge too far, DC, a bridge too far!
