My first book, Takeover, was about Dick Cheney's quest to expand presidential power (or "restore" it, as he saw it, to the level it had reached when Nixon was president, before Watergate). First two chapters, including Cheney's rise, free here: charliesavage.com/books/takeov...

It's great that some of the charges against journalist @bubbaprog.xyz were thrown out. We needed some good news.

We wrote last year about why the rest should be tossed too. It's not journalists' job to keep corporations' secrets, and it's not computer fraud when they report what they find online.

New Hampshire has a Right of Revolution clause:

“...Whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government.

I've been guilty of saying that we are "powerless" against the deportation machine, but I was being too grandiose. DC shows us how to "look for the helpers", and find ways to be one.

How is it possible that a far right podcaster Jack Posobiec, quoted in like the 15th paragraph, is the only person in this article who realizes that the woman serving a 20 year sentence might have an incentive to lie so that she can get a pardon from Trump.

Has this happened to anyone else? Arriving SFO, I declined to have my photo taken at immigration. At some point, CBP asked me were whether I like to read, if I had any books with me, and ¡what the titles were! I asked why they ask and agent said that in the scanner, books can look like currency. 1

Why is the press reporting that the concentration camp plan is for immigrants who are here illegally? ICE is currently deporting people here legally, including a smattering of American citizens. That's not going to change. So, the camps will be for brown people. Just say the truth, MSM.

Why adopt the euphemism "regime change"? It's overthrowing a foreign government.

Good for the NYT presenting interviews with Iranians endangered by missile strikes. We don't see a lot of coverage of Iranian civilians. International news is an economic loss for newspapers, but so very important.
June 17, 2025 at 9:42 PM
Yes, NYT. ICE agents arrested him. Why does the Washington Post say he was detained? Detained means stopped and delayed. Arrested is what happens when you are pushed up against the wall and taken away in handcuffs. Which is what these ICE agents did.
