Yeah, I find it hard to predict because can depend on what clerk in the compliance department gets the intake and how rigorously they examine it. And also they have limited information with which to assess some of the warrants. They should all push back more on novel surveillance like geo fencing.

The Electronic Communications Privacy Act prohibits providers from turning over user data without some kind of legal order, depending on type of data and whether the user got notice in advance. Once providers got the legal orders (warrant for content), then yes, they would almost always disclose.

My glasses are definitely rose colored, I admit it. But what Internet innovations from the past 15 years, other than social media (which I would defend, but understand those who don't like it) are the products that have sucked badly enough that digital natives would dislike the Internet?

I tried to make myself feel more respectful of her by thinking it's like if we said, "the world would be better off without cars." We only see the current problems and can't imagine the advances from the horse and buggy era.

A few years ago one of our fellows told me she thinks the world would be better off without the Internet. I told her I was old enough to live through both and explained toll calls, paper maps, questions you never learn the answer to, wondering if anyone else in the world is gay...
