Total success to the first college/university that pledges to be AI-free and brand it as an opportunity to receive a real education.
My employer, Dartmouth College, today boasts it's 1st Ivy "to launch AI at an institutional scale." It is doing this by partnering--"more than a collaboration"--with Anthropic, a company that stole the books of many faculty, me included, which many of us are suing.

Six years ago today sitting in the media room in Reims for USWNT-Spain in the Round of 16. Feels like yesterday and a lifetime. Glad there are still people like Abi doing cool enough things with Juventus to let me drift back into the international game for a moment. vucommodores.com/the-italian-...

Little Norwegian football for a smile on a Sunday. But if they were fully committed to the bit, the ref would have sent him to the VAR screen.

Watching Vanderbilt volleyball this spring, Kati Berezowitz jumped out because, well, 5’3 stands out on a D1 court. But there is always more to the story, in this case a family legacy and a desire to be part of the relaunched program’s first spring. vucommodores.com/the-first-sp...

Looking for your help if you're starting out in athletics communications. What would you like to hear discussed during a CSC panel on writing effectively?

Could be identifying compelling subjects, interview advice, story planning/structuring, anything at all.

Interesting time to have just finished (by coincidence) Alan Taylor’s excellent book. Gets into some origins of Canadian nationalism. Randomly and fortuitously, my high school had a Canadian history class back in the day, but I’m still woefully ignorant of too much of its story.

Reading the late great Terry Pratchett is always a reminder that the rest of us are just short-order word cooks.

“The class was learning about some revolt in which some peasants had wanted to stop being peasants, and since the nobles had won, had stopped being peasants really quickly.”

Jordy Bahl’s first hit in 635 days is a home run off Karlyn Pickens-while Bahl is simultaneously throwing a 3-hitter.

I believe in data and empirical evidence. The thing about sports is it so often seems like they don’t. Sometimes you just have to appreciate someone as an unquantifiable badass.

One fixed camera behind the plate and just crowd noise is making this Karlyn Pickens vs. Jordy Bahl Opening Day duel feel that much more retro. Going to go put some Shins on the iPod.

Thru 4 innings: 14 strikeouts, 13 balls in play.

Give me more of this, please.
