This isn’t the end of ICE, this is the beginning of something so much worse. They shot him 9 more times. Can't really capture that in a still frame when he was motionless on the ground.

They took his gun & killed him. Protest armed as a group or your a target.

Defend yourselves, no one is coming.

@gtconway.bsky.social while Dems struggle to find votes in distant and detached Washington, GOP are killing citizens with impunity.

George thinks the answer is vote getting?

In the meantime ICE will kill more citizens.

Dems are already dead. No heartbeat. No fight.
AND IMPEACH AND REMOVE.

We need to clamor for that even if the votes aren't there—yet.

"Watching America Unravel in Minneapolis."

This is oustanding journalism by a New York Times reporter. It helped me realize what is happening there, and just how bad everything is. I recommend it, which doesn't mean I endorse every line.

Drop the names of any Canadian companies you’ve seen working with ICE in the comments.

I’m aware of Gardaworld, Roshel, Hootsuite.

Would love to gather any and all other names.

I have about a sixth of the followers here than I had on Twitter and the engagement on a simple and fun post about an old country musician I love does way better numbers here than my stuff ever did on Twitter.

Sharing things organically leads to great engagement. The feedback loop is the best.

Like the pandemic, Trump has always been a mirror as much as anything, and this is correct
Parker is quite empathetic & gentle in the piece.

Not me. I find the passivity discussed in the piece *utterly damning* -- of US institutions, US leaders, and the US people.

Non one wants to just say it, but Trump has exposed this country as hollow, callow, spoiled, & ignorant.

Carney's speech in Davos was a strong contributor to the decline in the DOW today. Actions come in many forms @justinling.ca
My point, by the way, is not that Carney can't or won't do these things. My argument here is around what we should do, and how fast we should do it.

It's not defeatism, it's some constructive criticism.

@georgetakei.bsky.social check out Prime Minister Mark Carney's speech in Davos today. His speech is direct and hard on the reality that America is no longer a supporter of democratic institutions and it is time to move on.
Our allies are telling us: Stage an intervention before Trump drives us off a cliff for good. We should heed their warning.

This is one of the sharpest analyses of international affairs that I've heard from a Canadian leader - or any national leader - in a long time. And I suspect he wrote the main bits himself. paulwells.substack.com/p/the-carney...

Read this. Truth for Canadians. Honesty for a one time friend, America.

@bobmakichuk.bsky.social
Here's the full speech. It is a dinger. Glad the PM is using an international stage, but all Canadians need to hear it. We're in this thing together.

When will world financial markets downgrade USA as a safe place to invest?
This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

A teenage boy was walking home in Minneapolis yesterday when four masked men jumped out of a van & questioned him - with no parent or guardian present.

He was bundled into the van & taken away.

Bystanders heard the boy say: “Can I just go home?”

I don’t know how America comes back from all this.

Sorry to be so direct. But, one wonders if Americans fully understand their democracy is broken? Glorifying figuring skating while citizens are being shot and killed seems like a distant and very odd perspective.

Priorities? Makes me wonder.
@sallyjenx.bsky.social you mean America's team, right? Do they come with guns and masks?

@pmagn.bsky.social‬ Australia? Wrong country folks. Try USA where they are killing their own citizens.
January 10, 2026 at 5:34 PM
@joshuaeakle.com is so damn smart. He's figured it out. Now. Notwithstanding the orange dumpling told the world what he was going to do a year ago.

Yeah, nice work Joshua. Too late now. The election is over.
This week: we execute a U.S. citizen.

Next week: we take over elections to stop “fraud.”

It's so transparent what's going on here.

@steeletalks.bsky.social why would Canadians go the the USA ? We are in an economic war with them. They're trying to steal our jobs and destroy our economy. Why visit USA?

They shoot their citizens. Can you imagine what they would do to a visitor from Canada?

Exaggerated? Want to take the risk?
TBH I'm surprised flight cancellations to the US aren't higher. I miss some of my usual US vacation spots - but America literally does not feel safe or welcoming at the moment. I sincerely hope things change...quickly...for all of our sakes.

Oh, @thegodpodcast.com is so naive. Impeach the orange pumpkin. How? Americans have up on democracy a year ago in November. No courage to stand then. Why now?
January 5, 2026 at 6:59 PM
Why is @rmayemsinger.bsky.social worrying about name calling while at the same time democracy has collapsed? America is a despised country around the world not matter what names one chooses to use.
For the love of dog. It's 2026. The word has not applied for at least 10 years. STOP calling them "conservative." Right wing, check. Christian Nationalist, check. Extremist GOP, check. Fascist-friendly, check.

But they are not "conservative."
