It's actually baffling in Frankenstein that what is going on with Caroline and Elizabeth -- that Caroline selected Elizabeth to be a miniature version of herself to marry her son, and that Alphonse is enabling this -- is never discussed.

Like I just think this is really interesting coming from the guy who's mom literally selected and took home his future wife when he was like six years old like she was choosing a puppy from a litter, and then proceeded to raise the kids she was compelling to wed as siblings.

Any adaptation of Frankenstein where Victor is older than 23 when he builds the creature is telling a different story than the one Mary Shelley told.

From the "transsexual" post that has since been deleted:

Umm. Do trans people obsessed with passing realize that possibly the reason there are more non-passing trans people now is because we're not gatekept by pervert psychiatrists who decide we're trans based on if they think we will pass or not?

Thinking about this more is actually making me crazy, if we are arguing that LLMs are actually "reasoning" somehow but cannot understand facts but only social reinforcement from probabilistic word strings it's just...

You telling me a Meg nutted on these grounds?

In the text he does seem intent on "fathering", with reviving people from the dead as almost an afterthought. If it was really about reviving the dead I think he would have done things differently.

I guess I mostly just disagree with this characterization of tech bros? Because it is not even about not understanding the consequences of one's actions, which is a common trait, but rather of barging into something that already exists and making it again but worse due to lack of understanding.

It's maybe accurate that the average Millenial man had a "not taking Nazis seriously" phase (as has a significant amount of the US generally), but the proper response was and has always been this when you figure it out:

Probably also significant that the most successful forks from social media(ish) have been because of sexual censorship reasons (dreamwidth, AO3) and even the ones that failed generally didn't fail for Scott Adams reasons.

Just got around to watching KPop Demon Hunters and gotta hand it to Mira's character.

The problem with characters like Mira is that it's a razor thin margin between "why do they hang out with this jerk" vs "tough facade is fake and paper thin" and they really nailed it with her, bravo.

Gonna be honest though it's weird as hell seeing characters who look like how I did in my early 20s given the main character treatment. That's such a thing that like, doesn't happen. Idk.
