There was a time that imposing a tax on certain imported goods would result in Americans rising up against their rulers. These days the rulers just have to lie to them about what a tariff is and they cheer the tax they're forced to pay.

The situation in Afghanistan for women took yet another step backwards, with the Taiban banning midwifery and nursing for female students. Very sad news for women with this continued oppression.
