In the cases of queer and trans kids and teens, social media is actually frequently cited as a lifeline to being able to survive in oppressive transphobic and queerphobic communities and cultures. It’s an essential tool of connection, socialization, education, and yes, safety

It’s particularly important to note that legislation to limit what kids can do and see online also limits what *everyone* can do and see online, censors broad swaths of the internet, further disempowers marginalized tech users, and allows the fascist government to control what is on the internet

*bows* Thank you. Dialogue and comedy remain my favourite things to write. For all that I primarily write horror. :)

While you're reading Ellen's reviews, maybe give her a follow @samarcand.itch.io and pick up some of her own books:

Ellen's done a ton of reviews this year (that thread is getting absolutely massive), and a wonderful thank you for so many recs would be picking up her work too.

I think "deeply fucked up" probably describes both a lot of my characters and stories in general, and I will happily take it here, thank you. :D

Doing this story also reminded me how much I miss writing pure bitchy dialogue and barbs. So satisfying...

I think that many do not realize that when people say they will die without the ACA, they are not exaggerating or being dramatic. I take medication daily because without it my body does not recognize when to stop bleeding. So I take medication to "trick" my uterus into thinking I am pregnant.
