295 Sports Minute - Rings in the room is a cliche we hear all the time in hockey, but when the Caps needed it most Tom Wilson & John Carlson, a couple of the guys with rings in the room, elevated their play and gave the Caps exactly what they needed to tie the series with the Hurricanes.

Carlson made some huge plays on the previous PP too. Now he picks up a PP goal!
2-0 Capitals. Just a great pass from Tom Wilson to a crashing John Carlson on the power play, and the Caps have their first multi-goal lead of the series

Buzz Williams' early decisions indicate he is prioritizing doing things his way with his guys. The question now is will it pay dividends on the scoreboard? If he wins big Terps fans will love him, but if he struggles early this approach may stoke the flames of anger for a fan base thin on patience.
