I get paid to talk about Jesus, so I wouldn’t trust a word I say.

You could read Stephen’s speech in Acts 7, or just refer to the Peanuts from June 20, 1980

This paragraph at the end of section two is so stunning. Manchester is very clear that WWII was the culmination of WC’s life, and setting up where he is compared to his peers of that war says so much about who he was and about the way he grew into the person he became.

Despite our supposed capitalist society, we’ve completely lost sight of this notion which people in the damn 1800s knew, that it’s better for business to have a well educated work force. I guess they decided that made people question their wages too much.

Fascinated by the lives of people who eventually end up writing detective novels.

At least we can say 2025 had one victory, in January Julia Donaldson passed Rowling as Britain’s best selling author.

The Brewers centerfield camera is so beautiful. Honestly makes watching some other teams extremely jarring when they’re way off towards third base.

Have to say I rather enjoyed this description of who buys timeshares.

I was ready for Travis McGee to be good, but I was not ready for this level of prose. Not a bad mission statement. Maybe no high art, but still excellent in a detective novel.

With baseball season approaching I would like to once again complain that sportsalerts, an app I mostly love, has a completely unnecessary feature to tell you which team is at bat. There are no casual baseball fans left SA, we know how to read a box score.

I like 80’s Dead and will defend most years that aren’t 94 or 95, but this is the sort of setlist you get sometimes that doesn’t necessarily make me leap with excitement.

As if I needed confirmation this person stunk, they felt the need to amend this mention of CNN with “lying”

Worst of luck to the person who is so pedantic about floor/ground that they have to make corrections in library books.

In many ways the internet has destroyed the world, but it also gave us the random person consistently populating a subreddit about Patricia Mattick, a 70s actress who’s been dead for over 20 years. God bless them.

‘74 is obviously maybe the high point for the Dead, but this setlist is still blowing my mind.
