The House just passed its budget resolution, so reconciliation is now officially underway. This is their bill to destroy Medicaid and SNAP while cutting taxes disproportionately for the rich.

THIS IS VERY REAL and can be enacted even if all Ds vote no.

Thread on what's to come and WHERE TO FIGHT.

You are a champion! I applaud your Tour de Force. Don’t agree with everything you’ve said or done, but this is the type of dedication we need. Cory “Fucking” Booker!

I’m really tired of yt privileged academics, medical professionals, and scientists, telling others to how to feel and react when they are leaving the country. It’s so easy for these people to bounce because they were never about the struggle.

Needing a David vs. Goliath break. Watched the movie Erin Brokovich. I remember going with my friend opening weekend after a long week to school and work. I remember crying when Erin gave Donna the good news and the roar of applause at the end. Davids we will beat Goliath and his goons.

The guy whose daddy bought his way into Wharton, the guy whose grades were so shitty he's never disclosed them – that guy just destroyed the Department of Education. This is what dystopia looks like. This is what Fascism looks like.

“You can’t overestimate how inflammatory it was for former Confederate leaders to have a federal Department of Education because they equated ‘federal’ with Reconstruction.”

Racists have been trying to kill it ever since.

Disabled leaders keep telling you that their plan is, quite literally, eugenics. Maybe you’ll start believing us now…
Jessica: When I hear Republicans out there talking about their plan for education in America, I don't hear them talking about making sure disabled kids have access to a public education.

Greg: Because we're against it.

There is something behind this about Trump being a shit student and having to cheat to get by, so he hates the idea of anyone being smarter than him and/or getting a better education than he gave himself. This is his vengeance against all potentially good students.

Donald Trump has signed an executive order shutting down the Department of Education (DOE), which is the single largest funding source for education in America.

No President can undo by executive order what Congress has done by statute.

Trump does NOT have power to abolish the Department of Education

Any attempt is ILLEGAL and an abuse of power

Even the Trump-aligned Heritage Foundation (which released Project 2025) concluded the president lacks unilateral power to kill a department without Congress

Why is Linda McMahon taking tax payer dollars as Secretary of Education?

Also, Chuck Schumer, how do you feel about helping the GOP pass their bill? Did it stop them? RESIGN.
