My desire to minimize my use of Google services has finally been outweighed by my desire to reduce my technical debt. So moving the #Mariners 40 man payroll back to Google Sheets so I can decom some self hosted things I no longer need.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

It was assumed when the news of Root Sports demise broke a few months ago, but this article confirms that ESPN will be handling in-network broadcasts for the Mariners (along with five other teams) and the out-of-network MLB.tv service.
NEWS: MLB is set to announce its new TV deals with NBC, Netflix and ESPN, sources tell @andrewmarchand.bsky.social.

NBC will become the new home of the first round of the playoffs and Sunday Night Baseball.

Mariners probably need to add another 3 wins to be considered the easy favorite to defend their title. Jumping that up to 5+ wins probably puts them neck and neck with the Yanks as the best team in the AL.
