Nothing beats that.
I already own them so I'm not worried, but I'm curious as to whether or not the Switch versions will be delisted as well.

I'm honestly not sure what to think of this. It's not a quickie re-release since I can't imagine the show was very popular to begin with and it's not like there's a new game to capitalize on. It's like someone just discovered they still had the license to this so why not re-release it I guess?
January 13, 2026 at 6:34 AM
I guess there's also trade-ins, but while GameStop is the most convenient option their rates are pretty awful (barring new releases). While there aren't a lot of in-person options, you can still get much more for your games selling them or trading them in online. This just isn't a big loss.

I guess it sucks for the people losing stores that don't have any other locations around them, but at the same time I'm curious why they still shopped there in the first place. Between in-person and online there are plenty of other alternatives where you can buy games from in this day and age.
January 12, 2026 at 3:11 PM
I'm certainly not going to shed any tears because I rarely shop there anymore. I think the only items I've bought from them in the past decade are a few games that they had really good deals on and several Funko Pops that were exclusive to them. And that's counting both in-store and online.

And while it wasn't on the list of closures, the third closest store to me no longer shows up on their website. Though to be completely honest, I can't remember the last time I saw it was open (it was within the last few years though) so it could have closed even before these closures.
January 12, 2026 at 3:11 PM
I obviously have no access to their sales data, but the two locations I mentioned being closed were in large, outdoor shopping malls while the ones closest to me are both in out of the way strip malls. Don't know what criteria they're using, but I'm surprised the ones closest to me weren't closed.

So yeah, the point of this wasn't to actually answer any of these questions (I'm never going to get actual answers). It's just to show you how I end up overthinking these things. I could just sit there and enjoy it for what it is (and for the most part I do), but part of my brain is weird like that.
January 12, 2026 at 1:32 PM
And that makes me question the audience size. There can't be more than 15 people in this graduating class, so I'm not sure how they managed an audience that big. Did the entire town come to this thing? And if so, why would the businesses need to advertise when the town probably already knows them?
January 12, 2026 at 1:32 PM
The biggest problem with this theory is that the huge jump between Coley and Jablonski would make this already seemingly small class size that much smaller. Are you trying to tell me there is no one in this class with a last name starting with the letters 'D' through 'I'? How small is this class?
January 12, 2026 at 1:32 PM
While I said earlier you can't really make out the names being called while the parents are talking, if you listen closely one of them sounds like it could be Quincy Nichols. If this is the case, then this theory works because obviously Nichols would be between Jablonski and Oasis.
January 12, 2026 at 1:32 PM
So that leads to an alternate theory: they were actually placed in line by the name of the businesses. This comes with its own problems, but it also makes more sense. Even though it jumps from Coley to Jablonski (Harper), there could be a few names after that before it gets to Oasis (male twin).
January 12, 2026 at 1:32 PM
This just makes no sense to me. Even if his name starts with a 'Z' (so let's say Zack Davis), it just seems hard to believe that there would be two other people in this small class that both have the last name Davis and both have names that come between the names of these two twins.
January 12, 2026 at 1:32 PM
So you're telling me even though they're twins and her name starts with 'H' (going on my previous assumption, let's just say her name is Harper Davis), there were at least two other students with the same last name that came between the two of them? After they already established it's a small class?
January 12, 2026 at 1:32 PM
After the first twin Harper gets her diploma, the parents start talking to another parent in the audience. During this time you can hear at least two more names being called (though you can't really make out what they are), and afterwards the second unnamed twin is called up to get his diploma.
January 12, 2026 at 1:32 PM
So that means the twins' last name has to at least start with a 'C', though based on the school size I'm gonna assume it's a 'D' and go with a pretty common name like Davis. But even assuming that, the next part of the commercial still doesn't make that much sense to me due to the way it plays out.

I didn't watch the whole thing (I watched it off and on for about two hours, so the fact that it was over two hours is part of the problem), but from what I saw the only thing that caught my eye was that Distant Shore game (and maybe Dragontwin, though it was somewhat early). So not a total waste.
January 9, 2026 at 6:16 AM
At the very least they should have cut out all of the discussion parts and save it for an after show (where viewers have a choice of whether to watch it). That way the focus stays on the games, and if there's one you don't like you don't have to sit and watch it for like ten minutes.
January 9, 2026 at 6:16 AM
It just felt like there was too much hand holding rather than letting the games speak for themselves. They literally spoke about the games before, after and sometimes during (when they did interviews rather than trailer) each reveal. It slowed down the pacing of the show significantly for the worse.
January 9, 2026 at 6:16 AM
But with all that being said, I'll probably keep watching. As I said earlier I like true crime shows, so as long as the cases are good there's no reason not to watch. I could do without his commentary, but it isn't so intrusive that it ruins the rest of the show. Nothing special, but not bad either.
January 8, 2026 at 9:28 AM
And I'm not trying to be facetious when I say I've never heard of the guy before this show. They put a montage of his books and shows/movies based on his books at the start of the show, and I didn't recognize a single one. I believe them when they say he's popular, but he's still not a fit for this.
