Yesterday was a day to savor, even considering the circumstances.

We went to the toughest ground in the PL, we fell behind in ugly fashion, we came back in rousing fashion (with a threadbare squad), and LFC supporters embarrassed themselves nationally.

A good moment in a season of bad ones.

What a team. Magnificent over the two legs.

2006 - Luka Modric's first appearance at the Emirates - on 23 August 2006 for Dinamo Zagreb against Arsenal in a UEFA Champions League qualifier - was 34 days before Myles Lewis-Skelly was born, who he will be facing tonight. Longevity.

In the 1980's Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher allowed the richest to buy all our Public Resources, then the billionaires used all the money stolen from you to buy the Government.

That is how we got to the hell we have now.

The optics of this are terrible and should spark a serious discussion. I can’t believe the clowns in charge of this league could be so detached that they don’t even consider the worrying optics of this whatsoever.
Tony Scholes #PremierLeague chief football officer: I think we all like to see celebrations. Some of the celebrations have been very funny, entertaining, but there’s a line. Once it crosses over into mockery or criticism, then we would need to deal with it.” [Sky sports]

Uh-huh, and I suppose we’ll need some kind of guidelines so we know which is which…

Guardiola on Lewis-Skelly's celebration: "I didn't see... they did that?"

"That's good."

Sits there silently looking at the table for a few seconds.

"That's good."

As he's leaving to press officer, "did you like my answer?"

Wow, what an amazing result – kinda mad to say that Haaland's goal woke us up, but that's what happened.

A superb performance from MLS, deserved his goal and fair play Havertz for producing after that 1st half miss.

Nwaneri's goal the icing on a fucking delicious Arsenal cake today! #stayhumble

Common sense applied, which is very welcome.

The 'Well actually it is a red card, Michael Oliver is our best referee' crowd got some egg on their faces this evening.

I got my season ticket in 1992 so when I say I’ve seen some great defenders I’ve seen the best. Gabriel Magalhães stands shoulder to shoulder with the best I’ve seen.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is roaring at the home crowd, pumping his fists and kissing the Arsenal badge. The youngest player to start a north London derby in the league since Cesc Fabregas in 2005. Best player on the pitch. #AFC

Don't think that could have gone worse. Out of the FA Cup, lost Gabriel Jesus to potentially serious injury, missed a load of chances, missed a penalty, played 30 mins of extra-time ahead of a North London derby, and the heartache of losing a penalty shoot-out.

A disaster of a day.
