To the legitimate LEO’s (not ICE): I came of age at the end of the Viet Nam war. In those days, relations between the police and the population were rock bottom. “Pigs” was a lot more common that “cops” in the vernacular. The war and protests ended, but the enmity remained.

It’s still illegal to gerrymander on the basis of race, so far. The demmies can gerrymander their states without racial discrimination, but the pubbers cannot gerrymander theirs any more without obviously discriminating on race. The demmies may win the current gerrymandering contest.

There are a lot of theories why Trump now says Congress should vote to release the files. Personally, I think the main reason is that he doesn’t want to be seen losing control of Congress.

If I’m reading this right, the bill has to go back to the House before Trump can sign it and end the shutdown. Which means the House has to be convened. Which means (l think) the new member must be sworn in. Which means the discharge petition gets signed! 1/2

I am convinced that no more than 15% of this country has any idea what the word “socialism” means. The right equates socialism with communism, when in fact they are very different systems.

In a local school board election, 3 veteran educators beat 3 incumbent MAGA/Moms 4 Liberty types. This is the first time someone I donated to actually won!

I used to think the shutdown would end when the troops didn’t get paid and air travel collapsed from ATC/
TSA no-shows ahead of the Thanksgiving travel rush.

Trump’s single top priority is keeping the Epstein files under wraps through the mid-terms. He doesn’t give a shit who loses healthcare or if children go hungry, as long as he keeps the files hidden. Screw the troops, screw the ATC’s, screw everyone! He only takes care of #1.

Lil’ Moses will keep the House in recess as long as possible. Eventually, the House will meet and vote to release the Epstein files. Trump’s team will then delay some more, and then tie it up in court. The object is to delay the release until after the mid-terms. It may work.
