this morning, ICE went into a Spanish language immersion daycare and took a teacher from the building in front of screaming and crying kids and parents at dropoff and the daycare had to shut down for the day (near Lane Tech, where they were yesterday). Really hoping today's "theme" is not "daycare."

Reading a book about the assassination of Garfield and HOLY MOLY what a crazy story. Also apparently Robert Todd Lincoln was present at all three 19th cent assassinations? The first is a tragedy, two a coincidence, but by #3 you've gotta start wondering if it's you, right?

Today I will be celebrating BOTH holidays by honoring our Native American neighbors and expressing gratitude my shared ethnic groups from Europe were able to achieve enough in this country that I don't have to be represented by the likes of Columbus. Go Jews! Yay Irish?

Imagine your new boss calls you into a meeting to call you fat, sloppy, and stupid but also your job is running the world's largest military. I feel a lot better about the prospect of Trump trying a third term.
if i were a would-be dictator whose only civilian check on power had been consumed by total-complete partisan loyalty, something i would definitely do is call an unprecedented in-person meeting of the only people who could stop me and then proceed to illustrate why they should stop me
