Whoa: The European Space Agency's Solar Orbiter spacecraft got a spectacular view of Comet ATLAS (C/2024 G3) as it passed close to the Sun. Look at that enormous, splintered tail!

This comet won't be seen again for another 600,000 years. 🧪🔭

Someone on the other side has dirt bad enough on Schumer that he had no choice but to cave. I don’t see any other explanation.
Among the material devastation to everyday people, Senate Dems have now blown a hole in their ability to work with the House.

We had an agreed upon plan, House took immense risk, then Senate turned around midway and destroyed it w/ a fear-based, inexplicable abdication.

They own what happens next.

Employment lawyers, weigh in, please.
Is this something that could be considered whistleblower retaliation?
Paul Martin, the inspector general for the USAID, has been fired after resisting the administration. Just a day ago, his office released a report warning that staff reductions and spending freezes put hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars at risk of misuse and waste. This is the way.

Two weeks. It took two weeks for people to get 100% comfortable with being openly, PROUDLY, racist, antisemitic, and homophobic. And not even using euphemisms and roundabout language. Slurs, hate speech, and calls for purges just all out there, on public forums, gleefully.

New: The Alice Independent School District in South Texas warned parents in a letter Wednesday that U.S. Border Patrol agents may be checking the immigration status of students on school buses traveling for extracurricular activities.

Wouldn’t this be opening the door for public money to be used to fund religious education? How is this not a violation of the First Amendment?
Breaking: The Texas Senate late Wednesday gave preliminary approval to Senate Bill 2, which would create state-managed education savings accounts that let families use public funds to subsidize private school tuition.

“I oppose DEI” is now the politically correct term for “I support racist hiring practices”. We all recognize that.
But, will there be an “anti-DEI” overreaction where companies avoid hiring minorities so that they aren’t accused of promoting DEI policies?

“Unbelievably good at law” was the best description Trump could come up with to introduce his new AG? Either his speechwriter is a complete moron or he needs to never ad lib again.

Might have to start calling him “Trump on Wheels”. Everything he’s pushing is in lockstep (or should I say “goosestep”) with the current administration.
Judging by the reaction among Texas Republicans who dominate both the state House and Senate, Gov. Greg Abbott is on track to getting most, if not all, of his priorities through the Legislature with little resistance.

The governor’s list of priority items includes issues important to social conservatives and to business advocates.

Damn, I wish she was my Representative. Instead, I’ve been saddled with one of the aforementioned mediocre white boys (looking at you, Troy Nehls).
Crockett: I am tired of the white tears. When you compare me to Marjorie Taylor Greene or me to Lauren Boebert, there is no comparison. So the only people that are crying are the mediocre white boys that have been beaten out by people that historically have had to work so, so much harder

Why can’t Trump just speak on the tragedy without trying to piss all over the previous administration and DEI?

Did Chuck Schumer just say “No Fucking Way” in a press conference???

(I know it was “NFW”, not “No Fucking Way”, but the sentiment is the same)

Watching Grassley and RFK Jr. talking is like watching two reanimated corpses argue over who died in a less interesting way.

She needs to start campaigning NOW for 2028. Trump had a four year head start on campaigning and she only got a few months. Building that base now will make it easier to ramp up at election time.

They did it again and it cost them the game. Why have a back like Henry if you’re not going to use him in critical situations?
January 20, 2025 at 2:37 AM
Why would you try and throw for a 2pt conversion when you have Derrick Henry? Especially when he just ran in the touchdown.
That’s as bad as throwing for one yard when you have Marshawn Lynch…

You can really tell who wants Hegseth confirmed no matter what and who doesn’t. He’s either getting softball questions that he has answers ready for or actual questions that he tries to talk around or ignore, and talks over anyone that tries to get him to answer directly.

Honestly, I think Trump could have chosen a wombat as his running mate and his base would have still voted for him
