I'm not quite right in the head, so I decided to climb up the Paseo de la Mesa trail twice today. It didn't feel great, but my legs felt better than expected. I'm planning on doing this double climb every other week.

My older bike just went home with its new owner, the father of one of my piano students. Now he can ride bikes with his son! (And I have a little bit more room in my apartment again.)

New bike! This is the Primos Superdame. Steel frame with a carbon fork. 1x gravel group set with electronic shifting. I added Redshift bars/grips and a Brooks saddle. Considering this is the first drop bar bike I've ridden in over 30 years, it felt surprisingly comfortable.

Lots of cranes today, a balloon launch, and stopping to fix another cyclist's flat tire. The weather was perfect – mid 60s and sunny.

They've upgraded the parking lot at the other end of the Paseo de la Mesa Trail. They even installed this tire pump, which is a nice touch.

50 miles and change today on the bike. The cranes are back! Whenever I go on an extra long ride, I stop at the donut shop. Today's treat was a coconut chocolate chip donut. Yum!

I think I found my next bike. Steel frame, specced pretty much the way I want it right out of the box at a reasonable price.

Today's ride was breezy, with winds around 25 mph. The climb up the Paseo de la Mesa trail is already challenging. The wind made it extra spicy. I descended more cautiously to avoid getting knocked off the trail by a crosswind. A challenging ride today, but it's a great way to spend an afternoon.

Nice ride today! The temperature is cooling off enough that I can start packing a lunch on my longer rides without worrying about my sandwich spoiling. I spotted another heron. This is the best my phone could do. I definitely have a camera with a good zoom lens on my Christmas list.

Today's ride was eventful! Another cyclist had a flat tire but no pump. This CycPlus compressor filled his tire in about 60 seconds. Then I found a driver's license in the road. I picked it up and dropped it off at my local MVD on the way home. I sure hope Santa was watching me today. (ha ha)

The weather was perfect for a bike ride. I bought a small monocular to spy on wildlife. I was thinking that it would be really cool to have something that zoomed in and would allow me to take a picture, when I remembered that they make a thing called a "camera."

Not a fetish! I turn off all electrical hums when I record videos, including the fridge. Last recording session, I accidentally left the fridge off for over 12 hours. A bag of frozen strawberries melted and then refroze into one giant strawberry. Never again (at least until the next time).

It's almost Balloon Fiesta time! They've already hung up some banners at Balloon Fiesta Park.
