I am grieving the barbarism that is going to unfurl from all this. People are going to die. Livelihoods gone. All to feed a corrupt kleptocracy.

I see every day up close how different it is from the first time around. There are no guardrails. A disaster. I’m sorry we have to live through this.

An interesting theory on why Schumer supported the CR.
For sure. I know quite a few of his donors, professionally. It’s been a brutal week on Wall Street. If today they suffered another massive sell-off, the probability of a crash next week was exceedingly high. Still a real possibility. Yet, he chose them over us. Unreal.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: an administration (and its supporters) who believe that they are not limited by the rule of law have no moral or philosophical claim to the protection of the rule of law. “The law is whatever we say it is” warrants the same in response.

it is genuinely incredible that all you have to do is scratch the surface and it becomes clear that each of these guys is a huge piece of shit

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

Mike Johnson represents a state whose largest city was built below sea level behind levees sandwiched between the ocean and a massive river on hurricane alley, but he doesn’t want to give aid to CA because their policies invite natural disasters.

The letter that Pete Hegseth's mom wrote to him in 2018 is incontestably damning. Moms often have such selectively rosy sentiments toward their sons that we have cliches about it. But Pete was such a monumental shithead to women that his mom could not stay silent. Incredible stuff.

Time to give @bluesky props. As I write this, there are 560 quotes and replies to the post below.

Of those only 4 call me names and give me shit. About 15 do the same towards Trump.

The remaining 541 are on topic and add value.

👏👏👏👏👏
It’s a battle of political leverage. Who can use tariffs, retaliatory tariffs or sanctions to create more political pain for the other leader. Forcing them to capitulate or face undesired consequences.

How crazy would it be if China, Mexico and/or Canada initiated tariffs before Trump took office
From your standpoint as a businessman and manufacturer, is there any sense behind this? Especially now that other countries are threatening tariffs of their own in retaliation. But that doesn't make sense cause it would mean raising their own taxes.

The damage Donald Trump has done to our world will pale in comparison to the damage Elon Musk will do if our government doesn't extricate us from his worldwide ventures . One guy who isn't mentally stable cannot have this type of power over all of us.
