Remember that these counties that agreed to work with ICE includes the entire Brainerd Lakes Area- that’s Grand View, Cragun’s, Madden’s, Nisswa, Crosslake, plus the Crosby/Ironton area with Cuyuna and all those mountain bike trails. You know if those places said hell no, things would be different.
More MN Counties Team Up With ICE Dispatches from our hellworld: The Star Tribune’s Christopher Magan and Jenny Berg report that more Minnesota counties are partnering with ICE. Since Trump returned to office this year, seven rural counties have signed agreements to partner with ICE: Cass, Crow Wing, Freeborn, Itasca, Jackson, Kandiyohi, and Mille Lacs. Sherburne, Kandiyohi, and Freeborn counties have long been contracted to hold detainees for federal agencies (including ICE), according to the Strib, but this partnership is new. “Most did not reply to requests for comment,” Magan and Berg write, “but the two sheriffs who spoke to the Minnesota Star Tribune said they did so more to avoid legal liability than to earn money enforcing immigration laws.” Oh yes, about that money: Congress’s budget bill included $170 billion for immigration enforcement, with $14 billion earmarked to reimburse local governments. Would be great if the government provided things like universal health care, college, and parental leave, instead, yet again, you live in a hellworld.

Yesterday I saw that some monsters cut down a few massive oak trees in the front yard of a house that recently sold. It’s just across the ford bridge in St Paul, south a little along the river. If you feel like liberating some oak that might work?

Mushrooms are such weirdos I love it
Five mushrooms of various heights, realistically drawn. Each one has a slender stalk that is a mix of olive and grass green, with caps that are gilled and attached. I found the most lovely reishi yesterday

One of my favorites from The Wedge Live Cat Tour was Rutabaga the One-Eyed Wonder Pirate Princess and her lovely sign made by her family 💜

I got these Dutchman’s Breeches last weekend- they are so cute!
Two tan stems reach up and to the right from a green, low-lying and leafy foreground. The tan stems each have multiple white flowers. Each flower is shaped in a way that looks like two triangles, or a very angular butterfly, or pants/ breeches, since one of the names for this plant is Dutchman’s Breeches. In the background is brown leaf litter, which is common in early spring in MN.
