We were on the fence but wanted the kid to have the kindergarten experience, at least, to socialize and get familiar with the routine and it's a nightmare. Next year will be homeschool.

...and the result is I arguably play non-Steam games _more_ than Steam... and this abominable freakshow of platforms _works!_ It works well! It helps to know Linux well, but one could get by on tutorials and it works. I don't need 90% of what Windows is doing at this point, and I won't miss it.

The wildest thing about SteamOS is that you would think that adding a compatibility layer would make things feel _more_ bloated, yet it has the opposite effect. It's so smooth, so painless. With a bit of tooling, I got battle.net, Lutris, Prism Launcher, etc. running
